About John Sherlock
Born in London after WW2 I grew up and matured through the wonderful 60s and started a band in the 70s. I have met many fascinating people along the way, especially during my time in a working band. I have written and recorded some very accomplished songs and have worked in major recording studios.
During my time as a teacher I worked in and out of London and did five years at an International School in Austria..I speak Tauben Deutsch LOL ...as an ART teacher I have taught all levels up to A Level and Degree, I got my qualification from Cambridge University. I am considered very loquacious and can talk to ANYONE (my wife says) and I often do, when out walking with beautiful Alfie, my Springer Spaniel in the photo. I love meeting new people and have the knack of making them feel at ease with me, a great teaching aid. I finished my formal 21 year career, as a Head Teacher. I think I STILL have a lot to offer, as a Teacher.
Other Qualifications :
GCEs in English, Maths, Geography, and Art.
BA from South West College, Romford Essex.
PGCE from Cambridge University.
Five years Teaching at Linz International School - Austria.

English and Art & Design teacher in London and Essex to GCSE O and A Level. Also taught BTEC Art & Design to Year 12/13
I worked for 5 years in Austria so can work with basic German too. This could help German speaking students a lot.
My talent in English is reading and punctuation, which seems to be quite weak these days in written material, and does NOT help you, the student, if you are submitting personal information to a potential Employer. Poor English grammar for instance will put professionals off, and you may sacrifice your application simply because of poor spelling OR grammar. Also, having a working knowledge of colloquial English will help you both socially and professionally.
My Art was always influenced by illustrative work and from my love of comical material, adverts and caricatures for instance.
