About Ivy
I have 10 years of experience teaching violin and hold a Master’s Degree in String Performance. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students at various stages of development, helping them strengthen technique and deepen their connection to music. Watching students achieve milestones in their playing is always rewarding.
My teaching philosophy focuses on consistency, encouragement, and musical understanding. I believe that every student benefits from lessons that are structured yet flexible enough to support individual learning needs. Building confidence is just as important as building technical ability.
Outside teaching, I enjoy chamber music, score analysis, and exploring different violin traditions. These experiences continue to shape my musical perspective and enrich my lessons. I am committed to helping students develop strong skills while discovering the joy of violin playing.

My violin lessons focus on helping students develop a balanced combination of technical control and musical expression. We work on bow distribution, left-hand coordination, tone production, intonation accuracy, rhythmic stability, and phrasing through structured and engaging exercises. Every lesson is designed to help learners progress steadily while enjoying the learning process.
Students explore scales, études, repertoire studies, ear-training activities, and musical interpretation tasks that strengthen both skill and understanding. I provide clear demonstrations and practical guidance so learners can approach challenges with confidence. Lessons are personalized to match each student's goals and experience level.
I enjoy helping students become more comfortable and expressive musicians. Through patient instruction and regular encouragement, learners develop stronger playing habits and greater confidence in performance. My goal is to create a positive learning experience that supports long-term musical growth.
