About Jess
I have been learning the violin for 16 years and am at a diploma standard. I have done solo, chamber and orchestral performances. I have achieved grade 6 in music theory. I currently play violin for fun at university and am in a band where I play the violin and sing.

I structure the time around learning pieces for one half, and scales and technique for the other half. I like the student to pick pieces that they enjoy and want to learn so that their enthusiasm stays high. For music theory, I like to let the student do most of the thinking (I don't like to just hand out answers). I also like to introduce new resources to make the learning as fun as possible, for example, YouTube videos and music games.
