About Nat
I am a professional singer and teacher, based in London. I graduated from BIMM Music School & Point Blank in vocal performance. I have a DBS check, I have QTS and a PGCE (Teaching degree) from Nottingham University and have taught for 6 years. I have a Masters in Education and Learning, working with children and adults. During my career I have had to sing across many different genres, which has allowed me to understand how each genre can demand different things from the voice. I am a lead singer in a function band, which also helps me share knowledge with students other aspects of performance such as expression, movement and stamina. I am open to teach all genres, and all ages. I love working with children, as I used to be a teacher in schools, I have a lot of experience designing fun and interactive lessons that children will love and enjoy. A typical lesson would be 1 hour. For new students I ask them a few questions to get to know what they want to focus on, what type of music they enjoy etc. For repeat students, we will discuss the previous lesson, and how they have found their voice improve. I like to focus on 1 technique per lesson, so the student walks away with a new skill learnt, and can demonstrate development. I tailor my lessons to what I know the students will enjoy. Most lessons will start with a warm-up that will target the specific aspect of their voice. For lessons with children, I draw on my experiences as a teacher in schools to keep them engaged and work on songs they enjoy, liaising with parents where necessary.
