About Benzemroun
Originally from Rabat, Morocco, I recently graduated from the Juilliard School of Music in New York, where I studied under the guidance of Darrell Babidge. Before that, I trained at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris with Daniel Ottevaere. As a classically trained soprano, I’ve had the privilege of performing a wide range of operatic roles across the U.S. and Europe. Recent highlights include my role debut as Mimì in La Bohème with Opera on the James, Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica, and Vitellia in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito in both Vincennes and at the Estivales Lyriques de Wissant in France. In the 2024–2025 season, I will cover Madame Lidoine in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites and perform La Bergère/La Chouette in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges under the baton of Louis Langrée. My passion for art song has also led me to perform in curated recitals and international collaborations, including Juilliard Songfest with Brian Zeger, a Nordic-American repertoire project with the Sibelius Academy, and a Duparc Liederabend with Pierre Vallet. In addition to performing, I am deeply passionate about teaching. I have extensive teaching experience, having worked with private students in Paris and internationally. I offer voice lessons for all levels from beginners to pre-professional singers focusing on building a healthy and reliable vocal technique. I also help students prepare for auditions, conservatory entrance exams, competitions, and performances. My approach includes work on vocal technique, interpretation, musicality, language/diction, and acting all tailored to each student’s unique voice and goals. My mission as a teacher is to help singers unlock their full potential, build confidence, and deepen their love for the vocal arts.

I teach the fundamentals of classical singing (opera) to students ranging from beginners to pre-professional singers. My goal is to build a strong vocal technique, enhance the natural qualities of each student’s voice, and develop their musicality, language skills, acting, and appreciation for the art form.
Lessons also include preparation for exams, auditions, competitions, and performance opportunities.
I teach in English, French and Italian.
