The funny thing is about having students cooperate with teachers is that is often easier done by silence than by yelling. A simple facial expression does wonders instead. Saying a student’s name, giving the students a look, waiting 5 seconds after, and thanking them works wonders on convincing students that while you are kind and caring for their education, you are also one for holding your beliefs. The end result is that they will work because they understand you are working for their best interest and won't feel right about disrespecting you.
