About Mira
I am a student at Wesleyan University studying French Language & Literature. I've tutored elementary, middle, and high school students in a variety of subjects (basic homework help, Algebra, elementary math, reading/writing/spelling, and French). My most recent work was as a part-time nanny and French tutor for a 10-year-old.

I like to start instruction with teaching basic vocabulary and grammar, practicing through games and transcription. I also teach learning-related questions (What does this mean? How do you say...? Can you repeat that? etc.) in the beginning so that my student can continue to learn while minimizing the amount of English spoken in lessons.
After there is a workable base of knowledge, I like to move towards learning through storytelling. I find that it can be a great way to gather vocabulary and learn how to compose sentences, especially for elementary/middle school students. I also like using videos and music in my teaching!
I am always working on finding new ways to teach French that are effective and fun, and will likely adjust the style of my lessons according to what an individual student enjoys and responds to. Apprenons ensemble!
