About Jessica
Hi, I'm Jessica - a passionate and dedicated tutor, with almost a decade of professional experience in the Performing Arts industry. I’ve worked extensively as an actor and as a freelance practitioner, having taught students aged 4-25 at a foundational, advanced and vocational level.
I graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2016. Since graduating, I have performed professionally in productions in the West End, in regional theatre and on tour across the UK and Ireland. My credits include: Beautiful - the Carole King Musical (West End & UK Tour); Matilda the Musical (West End); Les Misérables - the Staged Concert and Les Miśerables (West End); A Christmas Carol (Old Vic); and Miracle on 34th Street (HOME, Manchester). Some career highlights include playing Fantine in Les Mis - a role I dreamt of playing as a teenager - and playing Doris Walker in Miracle on 34th Street in my home city of Manchester.
In the past few years, I've loved teaching students privately and in workshop settings at a number of establishments in London and across the North West. Recent guest teaching has included the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, The Hammond and Identity School of Acting.
I work annually with the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama on their BA Acting Musical Theatre auditions and have a direct understanding of the demands of vocational training at a drama school.
Having returned home to the North West last year, I've loved meeting and working with Performing Arts students across Cheshire, Chester, Liverpool and Greater Manchester.

My lessons are aimed at students aged 8 and over who want to practise their craft through work on a monologue, scene and/or song. I have expertise to assist students wishing to audition for drama schools, but I am happy to tutor those who enjoy acting as a hobby or are looking to gain further experience in advance of prospective auditions.
I love meeting and working with students, and I am happy to cater my lessons to each student's individual needs. An interest in the acting fundamentals is desirable but no prior experience is necessary; all levels are welcome.
Lessons are structured with a gentle warm up to prepare you to work, followed by a relaxed but focussed session on a monologue, scene or song of choice. The sessions may include a focus on breath work, vocal technique, movement, text analysis, acting through song and/or discussion to support and refine your performance. You will be offered working feedback throughout and a detailed recap of each lesson can be provided on request.
I work regularly with prospective drama school candidates and vocational students, and have an understanding of the demands of vocational training. Whether you're in need of informal advice or dedicated training, I hope to support you in your acting endeavours and would love to be a friendly face to enhance your confidence and develop your talent.
Some previous success stories include a student successfully gaining a place on a course at the Royal Academy of Music, whilst another student secured a role in the Children's Ensemble of the current touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat!
