I start with the basics of reading and writing music as well as following tempo and count the beat accurately. I start off with training in basic techniques of playing, followed by pieces or studies that allow for practice of those techniques. I practice along with the student inorder to facilitate better learning. I make sure the student has gotten a good grasp on the technique before moving finishing the class. I also encourage improvisation of melodies.
