About Arlo
I’m an English tutor with over 3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in English Language and Professional Writing. My greatest passion lies in children’s literature, storytelling, and nurturing early literacy. I love helping young learners discover the joy of reading and the wonder that stories can bring. My lessons are full of engaging picture books, interactive read-alouds, and playful activities that spark imagination. I focus on building phonological awareness and improving reading comprehension in fun and meaningful ways. With each session, I aim to make reading feel like an adventure. I specialize in working with emergent readers and early elementary students, creating a safe and encouraging space to grow. Whether we’re sounding out words, acting out a story, or diving into a colorful new book, learning feels exciting and natural. I use targeted exercises, role-playing, and fun simulations that mirror actual travel scenarios.
Together, we’ll build the vocabulary and phrases needed for smooth and effective communication during your journey. You’ll learn how to ask questions, give clear answers, and stay calm in unfamiliar settings. I’m especially experienced with Immigrant/Newcomer and Academic/Linguist learners who want strong travel-ready English. I guide each student step by step, adapting lessons to their needs and goals.
My sessions are relaxed but focused, helping you grow naturally into your speaking skills. We’ll work on clear pronunciation, polite expressions, and even cultural tips.
