I’m a piano tutor with 8 years of focused teaching experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance. My passion lies in helping students unlock both their creative voice and technical skill in jazz piano. I specialize in guiding learners aiming for top conservatories like Berklee, Juilliard, and other advanced music programs. Through personalized lessons, I help each student build fluency in improvisation, harmonic understanding, and stylistic interpretation. We dive into jazz standards, chord voicings, modal theory, and rhythm phrasing with depth and clarity. I focus on both expression and precision, helping you bring life to your playing. I believe that advanced jazz performance starts with curiosity and discipline. Whether you’re preparing for an audition or building your own sound, I support you every step of the way. I’ve worked with aspiring professionals, conservatory-bound students, and dedicated adult pianists. Each lesson is a blend of challenge, encouragement, and discovery. My piano teaching approach combines creative freedom with clear structure. I help students develop strong foundations in technique, rhythm, and musical expression. Alongside traditional skills, I focus on songwriting, melody writing, and composing harmonies. Students learn how to create intros, outros, and build full musical pieces with purpose and emotion.
I encourage exploration while guiding students to make musical choices that connect and communicate. Whether you’re writing a simple tune or a layered composition, I help shape your ideas into songs that feel complete. I place special focus on developing musical themes and transforming them into original works.
For The Therapy Seeker, music becomes a safe space to express feelings and stories through the piano. For The Jazz Pianist, I offer tools to improvise, arrange, and write with style and flow. I support every student in building the confidence to create and perform their own work.
Each lesson is designed to inspire and challenge. You’ll get exercises tailored to your skill level and creative goals. We’ll work together to turn small ideas into full songs. Step by step, you’ll compose your musical legacy.
