About Mike
Originally from California and based in the UK since 2000, I’ve spent over two decades working with more than 100 artists and bands across a wide range of genres. As an artist myself, I bring a creative, song-first perspective to every project—whether I’m recording, mixing, producing, or handling all three. Beyond the studio, I’m an experienced session guitarist who has performed with Mercury Prize–nominated artists and played to audiences of over 15,000. This blend of live and studio experience helps me connect with artists on a deeper level and deliver music that resonates both on stage and on record. My goal is always the same: to elevate your music and help you achieve a professional, release-ready sound while staying true to your artistic vision.

I tailor each lesson to what you want to learn. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a hobbyist, or an artist looking to level up your skills, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you towards your goals. Sessions are flexible and practical—we can dive into songwriting, production, mixing, mastering, or all of the above. Lessons are typically 1 hour, but can extend up to 4 hours if you want to go deeper into a project. With over 22 years of experience in writing, producing, recording, and mixing—and more than a decade as a full-time freelancer—I bring real-world, professional insight to every session. You’ll walk away not just with knowledge, but with the confidence and tools to apply it directly to your own music.

Details
If you're local and own a studio or have a studio setup I am more than happy to meet at yours or use your equipment when doing the lessons. Equally my studio Camp Sunshine is a great place to learn. I have a nice selection of guitars, Kemper and some nice analogue equipment.
