About Tam
I'm an economist working in public policy, with experience in research and consulting. Throughout my career, strong analytical skills have been essential. I teach maths because there's nothing more rewarding than seeing that moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. I meet each learner where they are—from basic principles to advanced A-level work—and use my real-world experience to make abstract ideas concrete. My approach is about building understanding at each student's own pace, creating a foundation that serves them well beyond exams.

I'm a maths tutor who meets students where they are. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching—I start by listening and watching how each student approaches problems. Some kids need visual examples, others learn through discussion, and some need to work through lots of practice problems. Whether it's helping with Year 3 times tables or working through complex A-level topics like differential equations and statistics, I adjust my style to match what works for each student. I'm patient with mistakes because that's often where the best learning happens. My students tell me they appreciate that I don't make them feel judged when they're struggling, and parents notice their kids actually start enjoying maths rather than dreading it.
