About Alex
I have been a full-time tutor in Singapore for more than 4 years. I specialize in English language and literature, but also enjoy teaching humanities and social sciences. I have a liberal arts background and relish the chance to introduce students to topics and concepts they might never have heard of before. I love to develop long-term relationships with students and be there for them as they grow in their studies and as human beings. I am open to all types of lesson arrangements.

I like to deeply engage with my students with texts and discussions. Classes often center on a specific reading, which we go through together. We analyze both the content and the writing. I prod students to think deeper than they are accustomed to. Usually, we practice critical thinking through writing exercises as well, and I encourage personal reflections as well as rigorous academic thought.
