About Ryker
I'm a current medical student at UWA with a strong background in Biology and Human Biology, and I’m passionate about helping high-school students feel more confident and capable in these subjects. I’ve worked with several Year 10–12 students already, and I really enjoy helping them reach their academic goals in a way that feels clear, structured, and genuinely enjoyable. Having gone through Years 11 and 12 myself and later completing a biomedical science degree before entering medicine, I understand how challenging these subjects can feel without the right guidance. My tutoring style is calm, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs — whether they’re aiming for higher grades, trying to build stronger foundations, or simply wanting the subject to make more sense. Parents often tell me their child becomes more engaged, more confident, and less stressed once they have someone who can explain things clearly and at their pace. I take pride in creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and building the skills they need to succeed not just in the classroom, but in their broader academic journey. These lessons are designed to provide clear, structured support for Year 10–12 students studying Biology or Human Biology. Many high-school students find the subjects fast-paced or content-heavy, so my focus is on simplifying complex ideas, strengthening understanding, and building the confidence needed to perform well in class and in assessments.
During the first free session, I take time to understand the student’s learning style, current level, and specific challenges. We also look at upcoming tests or assignments to ensure our sessions align directly with their school requirements. From there, I create a personalised plan that gives the student structure, clarity, and a sense of direction.
Each lesson is tailored to what the student needs most. Some sessions involve revisiting difficult concepts and breaking them down into manageable steps, while others focus on consolidating school content, preparing for assessments, or refining exam technique. I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, engaging with the material, and developing good study habits that support long-term success.
Lessons usually run for an hour, and I offer both online and in-person options in Perth. My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can improve steadily, feel more confident in their abilities, and see tangible growth in their results and understanding over time.

I study Medicine at UWA with Ryker.
