About Alexis
I hold an MFA in photography and have been teaching photography at the college level for the past twelve years. In doing so, I have taught a broad range of subject matter which includes: the history of photography, professional portraiture, lighting techniques, art theory and concept development, portfolio preparation, large format photography, and film photography.
Additionally, I have practice commercial photography and fine art project concurrently while teaching.

I prefer the marriage of technical proficiency with conceptual applications. It is just as important to understand why we are making pictures as well as the ability to make them. I am a straight shooter and will be direct with constructive feedback and I enjoy exposing my students to photographers who can help them define their own personal vision.
