About Dan
As an Ontario Certified English Language Teacher (OCELT) through TESL Ontario, I bring a wealth of experience and passion to my role as an educator. With a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Toronto and extensive experience teaching at the university level as well as privately tutoring, I specialize in preparing learners for success on their exams (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, and CELPIP), in their careers (Business English), and in education (Academic English). While English is my first language, I also speak a bit of several languages and this helps me understand the unique challenges faced by English learners from diverse linguistic backgrounds. This ability enhances my teaching effectiveness and allows me to connect more deeply with my students. My approach is centered on creating personalized learning plans tailored to each learner's unique needs and goals. I believe in practical, interactive teaching methods that not only build language skills, but also boost confidence. My sessions are designed to be engaging and effective, focusing on real-world applications and exam-specific strategies.
