About Mila
I am a passionate piano tutor with 9 years of experience teaching students at different levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I hold a Licentiate of Music in Piano (LMusA or equivalent), and I bring both technical expertise and creative insight into every lesson. My teaching is rooted in the belief that every student has unique potential waiting to be unlocked. I guide students through ABRSM and Rockschool examinations with structured preparation, clear feedback, and step-by-step support. For those pursuing university-level piano, I provide tailored coaching that sharpens technique, interpretation, and performance confidence. My lessons combine the discipline of classical training with the flexibility to explore a variety of styles. Technical development is always a priority, but I also encourage students to discover their own musical voice. We focus on strong foundations, from scales and sight-reading to expressive phrasing and interpretation. I aim to make practice meaningful by showing students how technique and creativity can work together. I create a supportive and motivating environment where progress feels achievable and rewarding. Whether a student dreams of passing exams, performing on stage, or simply enjoying the piano, I adapt my approach to their goals. Teaching for me is not only about shaping pianists but also about building confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music. My teaching approach for piano is both structured and inspiring. I begin with the fundamentals of keyboard technique, helping students develop proper hand position, finger strength, and coordination. These basics form the foundation for confident playing at any level.
Along with technique, I emphasize ear training so students can recognize patterns, intervals, and harmonies. This not only improves their listening skills but also allows them to play more musically. Music theory is carefully applied to practice, so students understand how notes, chords, and rhythms come together in the pieces they learn.
Performance skills are another important part of my lessons. I guide students in stage presence, memorization strategies, and expressive playing so they feel comfortable sharing their music with others. For young learners, I use creative and playful methods to keep them engaged, while for adults, I design lessons that are practical, enjoyable, and goal-oriented.
I adapt my approach to the needs of each student, whether they want to progress quickly or learn at a steady pace. Some students aim for advanced mastery, while others simply wish to enjoy the piano as a lifelong hobby. I support both with equal dedication.
My goal is to make every student feel motivated and confident, turning practice into progress and progress into passion. Through patience, structure, and encouragement, I help students grow not only as pianists but as musicians.
