About Isla
I have over 10 years of experience teaching violin to students of all ages, from schoolchildren to college students and working professionals. My teaching approach focuses on creating a personalized learning experience, tailored to each student’s needs and goals. I emphasize building strong technical skills while also encouraging creativity and expression through music. My lessons are designed to help students progress at their own pace, providing a balance of structure and flexibility. I also teach relevant subjects like music theory, ear training, and performance techniques, to support students in becoming well-rounded musicians. With a passion for music and a deep understanding of the violin, I aim to inspire my students and help them develop a lifelong love for playing the violin. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to advance your skills, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

My teaching methodology for violin focuses on accountability, creativity, flexibility, and empathy. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to suit each individual’s pace and goals. Accountability helps students stay motivated and track their progress, while creativity encourages them to explore different styles and express themselves through music. Flexibility in my approach ensures we adapt lessons to fit the student’s needs, whether they are beginners or advanced. With empathy, I create a supportive and understanding environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions and overcome challenges. Besides violin, I also teach music theory and other relevant subjects to enhance the overall learning experience.
