About Sophie
Holding an MMus from the Royal College of Music provides a foundation that informs every technical correction I offer. I spent 13 years working in studios and on stages before deciding to teach lead guitar and improvisation and soloing to students like you. My approach emphasizes reading sheet music and ear training while also covering essential skills like tuning and maintenance, barre chords, acoustic technique, and songwriting. Helping 33 students navigate grade exam prep is rewarding, but I find the most joy in watching someone finally connect with their instrument during a practice session.

Since I bring 13 years of experience from professional studio environments, I focus on building a technique that sounds clean and deliberate. My method incorporates your song requests turned into simplified arrangements to ensure you stay engaged with the fretboard.
We address your technical goals while maintaining a focus on musicality so your progress is something you can hear. I am confident we will make significant strides together.
