About Luke
I am a passionate piano tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with an emphasis on piano. My background allows me to bring both technical expertise and creative inspiration into every lesson. I have worked with students across a wide range of pianos, including Grand, Player, Digital, Upright, Classical, Electric Keyboard, and Acoustic Piano. This variety ensures students gain versatility and confidence no matter their preferred instrument. My teaching specializes in chord theory, ear training, improvisation, and more, giving students a complete foundation in both performance and musicianship. I design lessons that are student-centered, focusing on each learner’s goals, pace, and interests. School students, adult learners, and professionals alike benefit from my ability to adapt teaching strategies to different needs. Over the years, I have guided beginners taking their very first steps, intermediates building skills, and advanced students preparing for demanding repertoire. I’ve also supported professional and expert-level musicians in refining their artistry and stage presence. My goal is to ensure every student develops not only technical skill but also confidence and a deep connection to music. My teaching approach to piano is built on structured skill-building that feels both clear and motivating. I place a strong emphasis on real-time feedback, helping students correct mistakes quickly and understand how to improve. Engaging practice routines keep the learning process fun and practical, making practice something to look forward to instead of a chore. I encourage students to explore songs they love, while also guiding them toward pieces that challenge and strengthen their skills.
My approach supports learners who want to play with ease and joy, whether for personal satisfaction or for sharing music with others. I understand the value of balancing structure with creativity, so students can build a solid foundation while still expressing themselves. Improvisation and rhythm work are woven into lessons, giving students freedom to play beyond the notes.
