About Ellis
I’m a singing tutor with over ten years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Singing, and I specialise in working with young children and early teens. My lessons are designed to be **creative, playful, and full of energy**—because I believe music should feel like an adventure, not a chore. I use games, movement, and even storytelling to teach the building blocks of singing, like pitch, rhythm, and vocal basics. With folk songs, Disney favourites, and beloved musicals, I make sure every lesson feels familiar and exciting while introducing healthy, age-appropriate vocal techniques. I encourage students to explore their voices freely, helping them find confidence in every note they sing. Listening skills are developed through call-and-response exercises, echo games, and simple harmonies that spark curiosity and joy. I also weave in activities that get kids moving and imagining, like acting out lyrics or using hand motions to feel rhythm, making learning deeply engaging. My approach nurtures not just skill, but **self-expression and a love for music** that lasts a lifetime. Exploring different **song styles**—from classical arias to jazz standards or pop ballads—keeps lessons fresh and helps each singer discover their unique sound. Musicality isn’t just taught; it’s felt, as students learn to shape melodies and experiment with tone colours. To make progress measurable and motivating, I integrate **modern tech tools**. Recording software lets students **hear themselves clearly**, revealing both strengths and areas for growth. **Ear training apps** sharpen listening skills, making it easier to stay in tune and harmonise.
