My piano teaching approach blends structure with creativity, helping every student build a strong foundation while enjoying the music they play. Lessons always start with **keyboard technique**, focusing on posture, finger strength, and hand coordination to ensure healthy habits from the start. I integrate **ear training** early on, encouraging students to recognize intervals, harmonies, and rhythms so they connect what they hear to what they play.
I weave in **music theory** in simple, practical ways—showing how chords, scales, and patterns bring pieces to life instead of leaving theory as abstract knowledge. Improvisation and simple composition exercises are introduced to spark creativity, while **performance skills** are nurtured gently through small goals like sharing pieces with family or preparing for recitals.
I adapt lessons to each learner’s pace, offering encouragement to those just discovering piano and providing challenges for those aiming to refine advanced techniques. For some, that might mean learning to read sheet music confidently; for others, it’s exploring dynamics, phrasing, and emotional expression in their playing.
