About Lena
I am a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on voice. My teaching journey has been shaped by extensive work with choirs, vocal ensembles, and group harmony training. I specialise in styles such as Classical, Sacred, A Cappella, and Barbershop, helping students explore diverse vocal traditions. I focus on building strong skills in sight singing, solfège, choral blend, and part-singing. Rehearsal leadership and ensemble coordination are integral to my approach. I have guided school choirs, college ensembles, and community singing groups to achieve harmony, confidence, and expressive performance. My lessons are designed to strengthen technical skills while nurturing creativity and musicality. I emphasise collaboration, encouraging each student to contribute their voice to the group. I work to make learning challenging yet enjoyable, with tangible progress in every session. Above all, I aim to help students discover the joy of singing together. In my lessons, students improve vocal technique, confidence, and ensemble awareness. I create a warm, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to grow. I tailor techniques to each student, ensuring both The Fiddler and The Music Major can perform at their best. Breathing exercises and vocal warm-ups are a core part of every lesson. These routines strengthen control, stamina, and tone. I emphasise vocal health, guiding students on posture, hydration, and safe singing habits. Tools like ear training apps and metronomes help refine pitch and rhythm. Recording devices allow students to track progress and reflect on improvement. Lessons are designed to balance technical skill with emotional expression. I encourage experimentation with dynamics, phrasing, and stylistic nuances. Regular practice of sight-singing and improvisation boosts musicality and confidence. I ensure each student feels supported while pushing their limits. Ultimately, my approach equips students to perform confidently, sing accurately, and express themselves fully through music. Every lesson is a step toward both skill and artistry.
