About Tavisha
I am a violin tutor with over ** 10 years of teaching and performing experience** and hold a **Bachelor of Arts in Music (Violin Emphasis)**. My background spans **solo, chamber, and orchestral performance**, giving me a rich perspective to share with students. I know firsthand how the violin can inspire, challenge, and transform a musician’s journey. My lessons focus on **building stage presence**, developing the confidence to perform with both skill and expression. I specialise in **audition preparation**, guiding students through the technical polish and mental readiness needed for conservatoire entrances, competitions, and orchestra seats. For advanced players, we dive into **interpretation of challenging repertoire**, exploring phrasing, nuance, and emotional depth. I’ve had the privilege of working with **high school performers, conservatoire students, and competition entrants**, helping them achieve milestones they once thought unreachable. Each student receives a **tailored plan**, balancing disciplined technique with creative exploration. We spend time on **bow control, tone shaping, and expressive articulation**, but also on understanding the music’s story. My teaching covers a wide spectrum—**solo performance, ensemble playing, exam preparation, and improvisation**—ensuring that every learner finds their own musical path. Whether a beginner exploring first notes or an advanced student refining artistry, I tailor every session to individual goals. I integrate **sight-reading, rhythmic exercises, and creative composition** so lessons stay dynamic and engaging. Many of my students come eager to explore not just classical repertoire, but **jazz lines, pop melodies, and contemporary styles**. I support them in building technical control while unlocking the freedom to interpret, improvise, and even create their own sound.
