About Jenny
Hi! I'm Jenny, an Interactive Composition student currently at the University of Melbourne with a passion for film scoring and orchestral music.
I began my music studies with classical piano at the age of 4 and cello since year 7, before discovering my passion for composing in high school. Since then, I've focused on film and media scoring and have composed original scores for animation, short films and musicals.
My work combines several aspects of music. On the technical side, I’m experienced with Sibelius notation and Logic Pro, working with orchestral sample libraries, mixing, and sound design. Musically, my work is built upon a strong foundation in composition, orchestration, Western harmony, and music theory, while I continue to expand these skills through study and composition projects. As a screen composer, I also develop skills in narrative analysis, emotional storytelling, and composing to the pacing and dramatic arc of a scene.
My work has been recognized with composition scholarships from Berklee College of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Columbia College Chicago.
Because I’ve recently gone through the process of developing as a composer and applying to both Australian and American music schools, I understand the challenges many beginners face, and I would love to share my knowledge, resources, and strategies that helped me along the way.

I teach complete beginners and aspiring composers who want to start and explore music composition, film & media scoring, Logic Pro, Sibelius, orchestration, and music theory.
Every lesson will be tailored to your goals and experience rather than memorizing theory. We’ll learn by composing by doing, analyzing your favorite scores, exploring the techniques behind them and applying those ideas to your own music.
You’re welcome to bring your own compositions for detailed feedback, or we can start from scratch and develop your skills step by step :)
