About Eleanor
Hello! My name is Eleanor and it's nice to meet you :)
I first started learning music theory and aural skills through the Royal School of Church Music as a junior chorister, and I continued studying music through university, where I took classes at the Eastman School of Music. I love figuring out how music fits together and I'd love to help you figure it out, too!
I have experience with students age fourteen and older from a variety of musical backgrounds (piano, voice, guitar, cello), and I've taught a wide range of students--it's okay if you've never read sheet music before!

I believe music theory and aural skills go hand in hand, and prefer to teach both simultaneously, using movable-do Solfage for dictation and sightsinging. I offer lessons between 30 minutes (for reviewing only theory/only aural skills) and an hour for both topics, and while I prefer to teach secondary school students or above, I have experience with primary school students as well.
