About Alex
I started learning music at a young age, studying flute, piano and singing at the Municipal Conservatoire of Kalamata in Greece, where I completed my Flute Degree in 2015. During my studies, I performed with the choir Meliphono and the conservatoire’s youth orchestra, participating in concerts and festivals in Greece and abroad, including performances at the Athens Concert Hall and Opera House, as well as in Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Brussels.
From 2017 to 2019, I worked with the Children’s Choir of the Municipal Conservatoire of Kalamata, where I prepared weekly lessons combining singing, movement and musical storytelling. I created and directed end-of-year performances based on original stories and songs I composed for the choir.
After moving to Edinburgh, I continued performing and collaborating with musicians in the local music scene. I perform as a singer and flautist with the Mediterranean and Balkan group Samodiva Nestya and the Greek band Stin Pena, appearing in concerts and festivals. Currently teaching at a music school piano, flute and voice lessons.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding parts of my musical journey. I currently teach flute for all ages, piano and singing for beginners, creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students can express themselves musically and creatively.
I focus on the interests and musical tastes of each student, using songs that are familiar and meaningful to them as a starting point for learning.
I place great importance on developing good practice habits and musical training, while keeping lessons motivating. My aim is to help students build interest step by step, encouraging them to explore music without pressure.
I am also passionate about helping people overcome fears or barriers they may have experienced in the past related to music or learning an instrument. Many students come to lessons feeling unsure of their abilities, and it is incredibly rewarding to support them in rediscovering their confidence and joy.

One of the most patient and kind teachers I’ve ever had. Over the years, I went through a few tutors and I often gave up due to pressure and overwhelm. If you want a tutor who’s adjusting to your pace and motivates you to explore the piano in a fun, creative way, Alex would be the best choice I’d recommend.
