About Himadri
Hi, I’m Himadri Chakraborty, an 18-year-old drummer and percussionist with over five years of experience. I enjoy a wide range of musical styles and take both the joy and learning of music very seriously. Growing up in a Bengali household, I’ve been deeply influenced by South East Asian culture, particularly through my early training in the tabla and various regional percussion instruments. These rhythmic elements have significantly shaped my musical style. As a tutor, I strive to create a welcoming environment where students feel at home. I’m easy-going and patient, dedicating the time needed to meet each student’s unique aspirations in a professional and nurturing manner.

My teaching method emphasizes deep involvement in each student’s personal growth as a drummer and musician. I strive to enhance their skills on an individual level, treating their unique needs with respect and professionalism. Lessons typically last between half an hour and an hour and are open to students of all ages and skill levels. Although I have been tutoring drums for just over a year, I bring extensive experience as a performer and music producer. I am actively engaged in multicultural communities, specializing in rhythmic adaptation. Additionally, I am an Encore-nominated HSC student and have performed at various gigs across diverse musical styles.

Himandri has been a fantastic drum teacher who has been both dedicated and encouraging . He has an eye for detail and is consistent in his approach. With each lesson there is review of the previous lesson and the introduction of new concepts and techniques . My child has improved greatly under his guidance and looks forward to each weekly lesson. Additionally as a result, there has been an increased desire for practice due to this positive experience. I Highly recommend Himandri !
