About Larissa

I’m a certified language teacher double-dipping in English for Russian speakers and Russian for internationals, with 15+ years of professional experience. My university diploma is recognized by Belgian NARIC.

I also speak Spanish and Dutch, so I deeply respect the brain-melting struggle of learning a tough language. So, I try and bring a combination of serious expertise AND a relaxed, encouraging, and lighthearted vibe to every single lesson.

About the lesson

My lessons combine the highly effective lexical approach—focusing on real, natural word combinations rather than isolated grammar rules—with a supportive, friendly atmosphere where you can make mistakes without fear.
While apps can help with basic memorization, a live tutor provides dynamic, real-time feedback, adapts to your unique personality and goals, picks up on subtle nuances that make Russian pronunciation famously tricky, helping you sound natural and confident, and keeps you authentically engaged in real-world conversations.

It’s been a pleasure to study with such a professional tutor! I especially liked how thoroughly we worked on the vocabulary, so that new phrases settled in my head and incorporated into my speech. Larissa’s feedback was always clear and simple, and really useful. I enjoyed every class ️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️

Larissa has been an excellent teacher. She is patient and very good at explaining the complex grammar. Also, she gives tips to practice the language in day-to-day situations, so even during the day I can practice Russian.

I’ve been teaching long enough to notice a funny pattern with lesson pricing:

Average Price:
"Any questions today?" → Silence.
"Any comments, wishes, requests?" → "Nope."
"Did you do the homework?" → "Ah, forgot..."

Higher-than-average Price:
"Any questions today?" → A bulleted list of 14 burning grammar dilemmas, three cultural nuance questions, and a request for more homework!

When you invest more in your learning, you automatically show up with more focus, curiosity, and drive—and I match that energy 100%. High-level fluency isn't built on passive app scrolling; it’s built on active, high-engagement lessons.
