About Yu
I am a doctorate educated person with great interest and passion to teach Mandarin.
Originally from China, I came to the UK in 2011 and have been living in this lovely country since then.
I come from the southern part of China, lived in Beijing for a few years as an undergraduate. I have experience teaching Mandarin at the university, covering information from Pinyin to complex conversation including professional environments.
I am happy to help you get more knowledge about Chinese and China at all levels! I am a patient and friendly chatter, I respect all cultures and embrace cultural differences. I enjoy music, sports and delicious food from all over the world. I have travelled to many countries in Europe as well as America.

I very much tailor my lessons depends on tutee's needs. I have tutees cover wide range of age and professions.
Some example: some of them wanted to teach English to Chinese students, one of them were an anthropologist who was particularly interested in China and Chinese, one of them were a writer who's keen to bring stories that are set in China to English readers.
They all had different levels of Chinese skills and I loved tutoring all of them!
I have also tutored students who were simply interested in China as an country with extrodinarily rich culture or Chinese as one of the oldest and hardest languages!
