About Wilfredo
I began drumming to rock music and specifically genres such as nu-metal and heavy metal/double bass drumming but also classic rock in cover bands but incorporate a variety of styles into my playing! I also enjoy jungle drumming, drum & bass, and hip-hop. In middle school I was the first to audition for the jazz band my first year and played jazz band, concert band, and drum line up until my very last year of high school when I was the drum captain of the drum line. I played snare all 4 years of high school. I've continued playing drums in cover bands and with touring musicians.
When it comes to developing skills at drumming and a musician, it's always very important to have fun although I believe that perfect practice makes perfect if you want to get better, faster.

-Hybrid drum lessons with an introduction to reading music for visual learners, beginning with 4/4 rock beats and funk beats. Starting off, students will gain knowledge on fundamentals such as:
-Independence between limbs when playing
-Practicing correctly to a metronome
-Developing speed through proper use of the wrist
-Posture when setting up drums and stick grip (matched or traditional)
-Creativity when using drum fills
-How to fit properly into a band when playing live
I teach from beginner to intermediate and am patient, understanding, but mostly excited to teach and share my passion for drumming with others. I am flexible with genres unique to every student.
My degree in digital design and arts included courses in education such as technology for educators and educational psychology. I work well with students of all ages.
