About Philip
Hi, I’m Phil, a drum teacher with over five years of experience teaching both children and adults.
I currently work mostly with beginners and developing players, and I really enjoy helping students build confidence and solid fundamentals in a fun, supportive environment. I understand that everyone learns differently, especially children, so lessons are always adapted to suit the student’s age, ability, and personality. I also teach students who have been playing for a few years and are looking to take their drumming to the next level.
In lessons we focus on core drumming skills such as timing, coordination, technique, rhythm, and reading, while also applying everything to real music and songs students enjoy. I aim to keep lessons engaging and motivating, while making sure students are learning proper technique and progressing steadily.
I also teach adult beginners and intermediate players, whether you’re learning from scratch or returning to drumming after a break. Lessons are relaxed, clear, and goal-focused, with no pressure.
My aim is to help students enjoy playing the drums, feel confident behind the kit, and develop skills they can use in any musical situation.

Hi, I’m Phil, a drum teacher with over five years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults of all ability levels.
I currently teach mostly young beginners and developing players, and I’m especially experienced at helping children build strong foundations in a fun, supportive way. Lessons are structured, positive, and adapted to each student’s age, confidence, and learning style.
We focus on core skills such as timing, coordination, technique, rhythm, and reading, while also applying everything to real music. Students can learn through songs they enjoy, graded material, or a mixture of both, depending on their goals.
I also teach adult beginners and intermediate players, whether you’re completely new to drumming or returning after time away. Lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and designed to help you make clear progress without pressure.
My aim is to help every student enjoy playing the drums while developing solid musical skills and confidence behind the kit.
Lessons are available in my rehearsal space in North Liverpool, with flexible times available. Lessons are normally 1 hour.
