About Stuti
I'm Stuti Bansal, an independent experimental filmmaker with an MA from the Royal College of Art, London, and a diploma from the Friedl Kubelka School for Independent Film, Vienna. My work has been shown internationally (Berlin, London) and I'm currently a recipient of an India Foundation for the Arts grant for expanded cinema research

Explore animation as an experimental art form rather than entertainment medium. This course covers direct-on-film animation, pixilation, rotoscoping, hand-drawn frame-by-frame techniques, and hybrid methods combining analogue and digital. Learn to animate without a computer using accessible materials—scratching on film, painting frames, photographic methods. We'll study legendary animators (Norman McLaren, Len Lye, Caroline Leaf) while developing your personal animation style. You'll create multiple short pieces exploring different techniques, understanding rhythm, movement, and how animation can express abstract concepts and emotions. Perfect for artists wanting to add time-based work to their practice, illustrators exploring motion, or filmmakers seeking alternative approaches. No drawing skills required—experimental animation welcomes all visual languages and approaches to movement.
