About Lauren
I have been tutoring and teaching music since 2017, which is when I started teaching violin. When I got to conservatory, I greatly enjoyed music theory and aural skills classes and proceeded to tutor them. I love helping students gain a better understanding of the fundamentals of music and working through each layer of music theory as it relates to music history. Most of my music background is in Western classical and contemporary classical music.

I like to work one-on-one with students to help them understand concepts from the fundamentals of music theory to aural skills to serialism and 12-tone music. Students meet with me for weekly or bi-weekly hour long sessions where we discuss the challenging parts of music theory for them and work through sample exercises, analyses, sight-singing examples, etc.
I have taught and am comfortable tutoring students of all ages, including adults and conservatory/college students!
