About Shannon
I love teaching as I find it a fulfilling endeavour and started out by tutoring under-privileged children at community centres since the age of 17, and I haven't stopped since! I tailor all my lessons depending on each student's needs, and will be able to provide guidance remotely as well.

I have tutored over 60 students in Mandarin Chinese since 2019, all of whom have seen at least a grade jump since I've tutored them, a few have gone from failing the subject to receiving A's. In the IB diploma, due to my outstanding performance in Chinese, I completed the 2 year syllabus within 1 year and attained the highest grade possible of 7, with a 96%. As someone who comes from a Chinese-speaking household but is English-educated, I am fluent in both languages and can easily help students learn the language if they are non-native speakers.
I specialize in teaching the IB, GCSE, and HSK syllabuses, with all my students seeing a grade jump within 1-2 months. I also have several adult learners learning the language for fun! Lessons are typically 1-1.5 hours long, and tackles reading, writing and speaking, depending on the student's specific needs.
I also have an enhanced DBS certificate.
