About Natalya

I was born in Russia and lived there until I turned 18. Since that time I've been living in Brisbane, Australia and I cannot find words to describe how much I love this country.

I've been a Russian tutor for a long time now. At the start of my career, I was tutoring at the University of Queensland , then I moved onto teaching Russian at a local language centre, and after that I turned to private tutoring. For six amazing years, I've been working with bilingual children and adults teaching them the peculiarities of my mother tongue.

I hold a BA in Linguistics and Communications from UQ and a Diploma of Teaching Russian as a Second Language to Children from the Moscow State University.

When I don't tutor, I work as a primary school teacher aide at one of the most prestigious all girls schools in Brisbane, and also work for 2M Language Services and Translationz which are Australia's leading language service providers.

About the lesson

First things first, I genuinely love my students and the Russian language. Without this love, I think, it is impossible to teach a language. I make sure to include as many cultural aspects into lessons as possible, because I believe that the foundation for success in language learning is an interest and passion for that language you are trying to master. So, through culture (cinematic art, music, books, folk art, TV, etc.) I build what would become your long-lasting love for the Russian language.
I build my lessons based on my student's personality, interest, past experiences. I suggest having two classes per week so that the information really settles in your brain.

I have had the absolute pleasure of having Natalya as my Russian teacher since 2020 and words really are not enough to describe how incredible she is as a teacher and cultural immersion facilitator. Natalya always prepares robust lessons with relevant curriculum and matches the content to the my learning style/ objectives. Natalya is punctual, a clear communicator and most importantly- passionate about her role as a teacher. I feel lucky to have found Natalya through Superprof and would recommend her to anybody who is seeking to be immersed in Russian language and culture.

My two kids have been having individual Russian classes with Natalya for over a year now and we are keen to continue. Natalya is great with kids and keeps their interest going despite Russian being not the easiest of languages to learn. Natalya has proven herself to be a very reliable and highly professional teacher who not only takes responsibility for collating learning material that suits each child's individual needs but also carries out tests and then provides a report card on each of my children. I would definitely recommend Natalya to other Superprof members.
