About Emma

I have been playing violin for over 20 years and have recently relocated from Ireland to Glasgow to work with the Scottish Opera orchestra. I played violin professionally in Ireland since graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2017, and alongside this, I taught violin and piano both privately and in schools. This mixture of teaching and performing provides me with an added versatility and allows me to further develop my musicianship skills and as a result, to obtain more information that I can pass on to students. I am very keen to establish a similar teaching base here and to meet students who are enthusiastic about learning music, be it purely for fun or with the aim of working towards graded examinations. I want to inspire students so that they can find something they enjoy, something that challenges them and something that cultivates their creativity.

I like to offer tailored violin lessons that focus on building technique, musicality and confidence and my lessons are customised in order to cater to different learning styles and goals, whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills. I am passionate about teaching and I have over 10 years of experience in working with students of all ages and levels to help them reach their musical goals.
