About Anabela
I recently completed a one-year program at the Royal Drawing School, one of the most prestigious institutions dedicated to drawing, where I deepened my knowledge and techniques, enriching my artistic practice. The program I attended is called the Online Drawing Development Year.
Currently, I am fully dedicated to my artistic practice, focusing on drawing. In addition, I create content for social media related to this field. I want to teach because I believe that sharing knowledge stimulates creativity and enriches each person’s life. I also believe that everyone can draw, especially if they let go of the idea that there is only one correct and beautiful way to do it.
Before fully committing to drawing, I worked as a graphic designer, as I hold a degree in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon.

My approach to teaching aims to stimulate creativity and provide students with the tools they need to develop their own style. To achieve this, I use Art History as a foundation, drawing inspiration from artists, films, literature, and music, as all these areas can serve as sources of inspiration for drawing.
Each class lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. It begins with a theoretical introduction where I present the lesson’s theme and the necessary references. Then, I introduce the exercises to be developed during the class. The practical part is divided into two stages: one guided by me and another for free exploration, allowing students to apply what they have learned. This approach helps students acquire knowledge and explore their creativity while always having my support to answer any questions. At the end of the lesson, we review the work done, and I provide feedback. Students will also have access to PDFs containing the information covered in each class.
I have experience teaching both group workshops and private lessons. I always consider each student’s interests to personalize every class accordingly.
As mentioned above, the focus is on providing knowledge and methods that foster creativity and cultural awareness. The goal is not to teach techniques for specific materials, such as acrylic or oil painting, nor an academic approach to figure drawing or perspective, for example. While I will provide guidance and explain some basic techniques, students will always have the freedom to use the materials they prefer. There is no right or wrong way to draw—what matters is what feels natural to each student.
These classes are designed for anyone who wants to explore drawing freely and learn more about art and culture, regardless of their experience level.
