About Joelle Mary

I'm Joelle and I'm a law student at UNSW.

A few things about me:

- I love music! I’ve played music all my life and some instruments include violin, voice and piano. But I love just picking up an instrument and figuring out myself.

- History was my favourite subject at school. I especially love American and South East Asian history.

- I used to be a competitive runner! 400m sprints were my race

- I used to hate maths but now I love it. Funny I’m doing law though right?

- I love reading. Some of my all time favourite books include
o The Handmaids Tale
o The Book Thief
o The Kite Runner
o When We Cease to Understand the World

About the lesson

I focus on channelling and honing in on your individual creativity, and especially your inner voice. I find that this is super important in writing as it amplifies the flow and cohesiveness of your writing.
I also focus on how to read and interpret class texts, especially for developing essay ideas.

I have lots of experience in tutoring, as a former Kumon tutor myself, in both English and maths, and completed my Stage 2 English Literary Studies with an A overall in 2021.

Lessons are for Middle school and Senior school sudents (ages 11-15), and will run for approximately 1 hour a week, along with other options to send through your writing and assignments for English and grammatical drafting/help.
