About Jay
People might be nervous to just walk into an academy and start especially when the coach has way too many students to give them the one on one time for their growth. Then they get stuck in a contract and have a terrible experience. I give one on one instruction (group instruction available upon request) and I am dedicated to improving the lives of my students both in and out of training. I stress the importance of mental health/growth alongside actual physical training. I have been teaching children, teens and adults for over 6 years have been training myself in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (currently a brown belt) and Muay Thai for 8 years and have also worked for Title Boxing. My goal is not only teaching people how to get in shape but to have them learning and growing to keep them engaged and keep my students coming back. I am an active competitor and have been in several competitions around the USA. My primary style is Jiu Jitsu but I am knowledgeable in striking.
My favorite part about what I do is seeing my students achieve their goals. If I can say something or teach something that sparks a light and gets someone to chase their passion or break through the demons they are fighting through in their lives then I have done my job correctly. Build confidence, build yourself, build an empire!!!
I have been training in both Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai for 8 years and am an active competitor. I have been in over 200 competition grappling matches in that time frame with several different promotions (ADCC, Fight2Win, Submission hunter, Sapateiro, etc.) and provide experience and knowledge. I also have a degree in psychology and have been able to use all of this knowledge together to create solid lesson plans for all ages from children starting at 4 years old to adults of all shapes and sizes.

Typically the first lesson will be about an hour and a half. I will go through the process of getting to know the student and their goals as well as going over fundamentals essential in the learning process. For people who are more experienced I provide more positional and technical training that will help them get to the next level.
All kinds of students from troubled children and teens, to police officers, combat veterans etc.

Being that these are private lessons and not a gym membership the prices are a bit different. (Will do bundle deals for blocks of 3 or more lessons purchased)
Children (Ages 4-12): $40/hr (1 lesson)
Teens (Ages 13-17): $60/hr (1 lesson)
Adults (18+): $80/hr (1 lesson)
