About Rain

Hi, I'm Rain! I'm a recent graduate of the Royal College of Art, where I studied MA Curating Contemporary Art.

This is the link to my portfolio: (concealed information)

I grew up in Taiwan and have been studying art since I was young. I attended a specialised art programme in high school, where I received intensive training in drawing, watercolour, oil painting and other traditional techniques. I later studied Art Theory and Visual Studies at Taipei National University of the Arts, before moving to London for my Master's.

I've worked as an art studio teaching assistant and a private tutor, teaching children and young people with different levels of experience.

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing how differently people approach the same subject. I love sharing what I've learnt, but I'm equally interested in hearing students' ideas and discovering how they see the world. For me, art is not just about making something look good, but also about learning to observe, think and express yourself.

I adapt my lessons to each student's interests, abilities and pace. Some students want to improve their drawing and painting techniques, while others simply enjoy making art and trying something new. I'm happy to work with both.

I teach sketching, watercolour, acrylics, oil painting, composition and colour theory. I also enjoy helping students develop their own ideas, experiment with materials and find different ways to express themselves.

From my experience working in an art studio and teaching one-to-one, I've learnt that everyone approaches art differently. I like to give students room to explore, ask questions and make mistakes, while offering practical guidance when they need it.

My lessons are open to children, teenagers and adults, whether you're a complete beginner or already have some experience. Lessons usually last 60 to 90 minutes, depending on what we're working on.
